Esprit des Ancêtres is an exhibition project conceived by the Congolese artist (Géraldine Tobé). Upon her invitation, 12 artists from 7 different African artists will reconnect with the spirituality of their ancestors. The project proposes a completely new approach as the curator invites the artist to adopt artifacts from those almost forgotten cultures. In the same way, as a family is adopting a child.

The project needs an intense collaboration with important ethnographical institutions from Europe. Those collaborations include our participation into sensitive ongoing issues as decolonization and restitution. Because of the sensitivity of all those issues, the project progresses through several intermediary steps. The project was officially launched by means of a webinar on 12 May 2021.
